Frequently Asked Questions
We know you don’t have time for marketing fluff. Here are the direct answers to the most common technical and procurement questions we receive from panel builders and OEMs.
Do your enclosures maintain their IP rating after the knockouts are removed?
Yes, provided standard IP-rated cable glands are used and properly torqued. Because our CNC-punched knockouts are completely burr-free, the gland’s O-ring can seat perfectly flat against the bare metal. This ensures a watertight seal and prevents any capillary water ingress.
How do you prevent premature rusting in humid or corrosive environments?
We never apply powder coat directly over bare steel. Every mild steel enclosure undergoes a rigorous 5-stage iron phosphate pre-treatment wash. This microscopically etches the metal for maximum paint adhesion and creates a stable, rust-resistant barrier. For extreme marine or high-chloride environments, we strongly specify our SS316L stainless steel enclosures.
If the enclosure is perfectly sealed, how do you prevent internal condensation?
Absolutely. We highly encourage First Article Inspection (FAI) prototypes for custom OEM designs. We want your panel builders to physically mount their components, verify wireway clearances, and approve the fitment. Once you sign off on the prototype, we lock the CNC parameters for the full production run, guaranteeing zero dimensional drift.
