Frequently Asked Questions
We don’t hide our specs, lead times, or policies behind sales calls. Here are the direct answers to the most common questions we get from control engineers and buyers regarding custom fabrication, IP integrity, and ordering processes.
When you customize HMI enclosure cutouts, does it compromise the NEMA 4X or IP66 rating?
Not with our process. Traditional manual drilling on the shop floor often introduces micro-warping and metal burrs that ruin gasket seals. We use precision fiber lasers (+/- 0.05mm tolerances) to cut the panel before forming and finishing. The cut edges are perfectly flat, ensuring your HMI’s OEM gasket seats flawlessly and maintains 100% IP66/NEMA 4X integrity.
What is your Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) for custom pre-machined enclosures?
One unit. We understand that machine builders often need a single prototype for proof-of-concept before committing to full production. We treat a 1-piece order with the same First Article Inspection (FAI) rigor as a 500-piece batch.
We use an obscure HMI brand. Can you still pre-machine the cutouts?
Yes. While we have standard templates for Siemens, Beckhoff, and Allen-Bradley, we are fundamentally a custom sheet metal fabricator. If you provide the panel cutout dimensions from your HMI manufacturer’s datasheet (or a DXF file), we will program our CNC lasers to match it perfectly at no extra programming cost.
How fast can you deliver an enclosure with custom dimensions?
Standard-sized enclosures with custom cutouts typically ship in 48 to 72 hours. Fully custom enclosures (unique depths, non-standard widths, or specific RAL color powder coating) generally ship in 1 to 2 weeks. Your exact lead time will be guaranteed on your quote.
What CAD file formats do I need to send for a quote?
For 3D assemblies, STEP (.stp) or IGES files are preferred. If you only have the flat pattern cutouts, DXF or DWG files work perfectly. No CAD? Just send us a PDF dimension drawing and our engineers will model it for you.
