Quality Control & Certification

Bad quality control delays your production schedules. We deliver ready-to-assemble sheet metal parts backed by strict physical inspections and the exact certifications you require. Build faster without the rework.

Industry Quality Certifications

ShincoFab operates under active, internationally recognized quality management systems. This ensures your sheet metal parts fully comply with your strictest regulatory standards.

IS09001-2015

GB/T19001-2016 / ISO 9001:2015

As the internationally recognized baseline standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS), this certification signifies that our facility operates under strictly standardized fabrication procedures. It demonstrates our ability to maintain complete documentation, ensure material traceability, and deliver consistent quality control across all commercial sheet metal projects.
AS9100-2016

AS9100:2016

Developed as the specific quality management standard for the aerospace and defense industry, this certification represents our capability to execute strict risk management and prevent the use of counterfeit materials. It proves our operational readiness to consistently manage the complex tolerances required for highly regulated, mission-critical components.

IATF 16949:2016

As the global quality management standard for the automotive sector, this certification signifies our strict integration of statistical process control (SPC) and continuous defect prevention. It demonstrates our capability to minimize supply chain variation and ensure absolute dimensional consistency during high-volume production runs.

Get Documented Proof With Your Quote

ShinoFab don’t just ship metal. We deliver the hard data to prove it’s right. Choose the exact documentation your compliance team needs.

First Article Inspection

First Article Inspection (FAI)

Avoid assembly line surprises.
We don’t leave your first production run to chance. We provide full AS9102C-formatted FAI reports, utilizing CMM and laser scanning to verify 100% of the dimensions, hole locations, and GD&T callouts on your 2D print before full-scale production begins.

Material Test Reports (MTR / Mill Certs)

Don’t risk a recall over counterfeit metals.
Address your liability concerns upfront. Get complete chemical and mechanical property traceability for every heat lot of SS304, SS316, or Aluminum 5052. Every material is traced directly back to the original steel mill.

Certificate of Conformance (CoC)

Bulletproof your paper trail.
Included standard with every shipment. A signed CoC guarantees that all sheet metal fabrication, welding, and finishing processes meet your exact PO specifications, satisfying both your internal QMS and external ISO auditors.

Dimensional Inspection Reports (DIR) & SPC

Prove process stability for high-volume runs.
Need to know your critical tolerances won’t drift on part #5,000? We provide Statistical Process Control (SPC) data with CpK values for your critical-to-function (CTF) features, ensuring absolute repeatability across large batches.

Precision Proven by Metrology Hardware

You ignore vague claims of high precision. You trust actual hardware capabilities. Here is the exact metrology arsenal we use to verify your tightest sheet metal tolerances.

Grade-A Granite Surface Plates & Digital Height Gauges

  • What it does: Provides an absolutely flat, zero-reference datum plane to measure critical bend heights, flatness, and hole locations using calibrated digital height indicators.
  • Why it matters: Sheet metal warping and bend-angle variations will ruin your final assembly. By inspecting parts against a certified flat surface, we guarantee your formed flanges and inserted hardware will align perfectly with your mating components.

Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines

Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)

  • What it does: High-accuracy 3D probing for complex formed geometries, welded assemblies, and GD&T features.
  • Why it matters:  When your sheet metal part has multiple bends and requires strict parallelism or perpendicularity, our CMM verifies dimensional accuracy and helps ensure reliable fit and assembly performance.

Keyence Image Measurement Systems

  • What it does: High-volume, automated optical inspection with sub-micron accuracy.
  • Why it matters: Ideal for rapid verification of dense micro-hole arrays, perforated sheets, or stamped features across large production runs.

Calibrated Gauging & Thread Verification

  • What it does: Full sets of pin gauges, thread gauges (Go/No-Go), and Mitutoyo digital micrometers.
  • Why it matters: Missing threads or skewed PEM hardware (nuts/standoffs) is a notoriously common sheet metal headache. We physically verify thread integrity so you don’t have to rework parts on your assembly line.

The 3-Step Error Prevention Workflow

Quality isn’t a final inspection at the shipping dock. It is engineered into the fabrication process. Here is exactly how we catch errors before the metal is ever cut, bent, or welded.

Step 1: Pre-Production DFM (Design for Manufacturability) Review

We fix it on the screen, not on the shop floor.
Before a single laser fires, our manufacturing engineers dissect your CAD model. We proactively flag sheet metal-specific issues: bend radius tooling conflicts, incorrect K-factors, material tear-outs near bend lines, and PEM hardware clearance limits. We ensure your design is 100% manufacturable before cutting begins.

Step 2: In-Process Routing & Machine-Level Sign-Offs

Operators don’t just push buttons.
We enforce strict routing controls. The First Off piece must be physically verified and signed off at the fiber laser, the CNC press brake, and the welding station before the rest of the batch is allowed to run. If a critical dimension drifts outside your specified tolerance, the machine stops. We do not pass borderline parts.

Step 3: Edge, Finish & Transit Protection

Perfect parts shouldn’t get destroyed in the box.
A dimensionally accurate part is still scrap if it arrives scratched or covered in sharp burrs. Our final step focuses on physical and cosmetic integrity. We inspect for clean deburring, verify powder coat consistency, and custom-pack your sheet metal so the parts don’t grind against each other during transit. It arrives ready for your final product.

Our Quality Guarantee

Your reputation is on the line with every vendor you approve. We protect it through strict physical verification. If a part does not exactly match your 2D print and GD&T callouts, it never leaves our floor. Period.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our DFM review process, quality inspection standards, supplier audits, and how we ensure every fabricated part meets your specifications.

What CAD file formats do you need to perform a thorough DFM and Quality Review?

To ensure absolute precision, we need your 3D models (STEP or IGES formats) to extract flat patterns. Crucially, we also require your 2D prints (PDF format) that clearly call out your specific tolerances, threaded hardware (PEMs), and GD&T requirements.

Absolutely. We welcome supplier audits from your engineering and quality teams. You can tour our fabrication floor, observe our production processes in action, and review our in-process routing controls in person. Contact us to schedule a visit.

We catch deviations at the machine level before a batch is completed. If a part does not match your 2D print, it is scrapped internally. We do not ship borderline parts, and we do not expect you to rework our mistakes on your assembly line.
