Frequently Asked Questions
You mention a 3-week lead time. Is that actually guaranteed?
Yes. We achieve this by stocking standard raw materials (10 to 14 gauge Carbon Steel, 304/316L) in house and utilizing modular CAD templates. While heavy customizations or specific color matching may add one to two weeks, we will give you a firm guaranteed ship date upfront with your quote. We always stick to that date.
If you custom-punch knockouts and louver placements, does the enclosure still maintain its UL rating?
Absolutely. Field-drilling voids certifications, but factory modifications do not. All of our prepunched knockouts, removable gland plates, and thermal cutouts are engineered entirely within the parameters of our UL 845 and NEMA certification files. The cabinet you receive is 100% compliant and ready for your safety audit.
My MCC will house high-density VFDs. How do you handle extreme heat loads?
My retrofitting project has tight access points. Do you only ship enclosures fully welded?
No. If a standard 90 inch tall welded enclosure will not clear your plant doors or tight corridors, we offer a precision engineered knock down flat pack configuration. Your riggers can transport it piece by piece and bolt it together on site without sacrificing the structural rigidity or environmental seal of the enclosure.
Do I need 304 or 316L Stainless Steel for my NEMA 4X application?
It depends on the corrosives present. For standard food and beverage washdown areas, 304 Stainless is usually sufficient. However, if your enclosure will be exposed to marine environments, wastewater treatment gases (like H2S), or petrochemicals, we strictly specify 316L. The added molybdenum in 316L provides maximum resistance against chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.
