Sheet Metal Cover
Eliminate tolerance headaches. We fabricate high-precision specialized sheet metal cover to protect your critical electronics and machinery.
3 Reasons Why Custom Sheet Metal Cover Fail
Sheet metal covers appear simple but require strict precision. A mounting hole misalignment of just 2mm or poor powder coat adhesion will halt your assembly line. Imprecise fabrication causes costly failures in critical equipment. Shincofab eliminates these risks through our verified manufacturing protocols.
Tolerance Stack-up & Poor Fitment
There is nothing more frustrating than receiving a batch of 500 enclosures, only to find the mounting points don’t align with your chassis. This usually happens when shops ignore tolerance accumulation during bending.
Our Solution: Precision from Cut to Bend.
- Laser Accuracy: We utilize Trumpf fiber lasers to hold cutting tolerances within +/- 0.05mm.
- Bend Compensation: Our CNC press brakes use automatic angle correction specifically for spring-back reduction on stainless and aluminum.
- Mandatory Assembly Verification: For every new SKU, we perform a physical pre-assembly test or a virtual interference check against your mating parts before mass production.
The Result: Your covers drop into place effortlessly. No drilling, no filing, no assembly line delays.
Surface & Finishing Disasters
Oversprayed powder coating clogging your threaded inserts? Or paint covering the grounding areas, causing conductivity failure? These detail-level oversights inevitably lead to rework.
- Intelligent Masking: We use high-temp silicone plugs and custom masking tape to protect studs, grounding pads, and threaded holes during the coating process.
- Durability Standards: Our finished parts undergo rigorous cross-cut adhesion testing (ASTM D3359) and pencil hardness testing to ensure the finish survives industrial handling.
- Outdoor Readiness:Â Need outdoor protection? We provide verified salt spray testing reports (up to 1,000 hours) for galvanized and anodized parts.
The Result:Â Flawless aesthetics and functional electrical continuity, straight out of the box.
Leaking Enclosures (IP/NEMA Failure)
You designed for IP65, but the fabricator used stitch welding instead of continuous welding, or the gasket channel was deformed during forming. The result? Water ingress and damaged internal electronics.
Our Solution:Â Leak-Proof Construction Logic.
- Seam Integrity: Our certified welders (AWS/ISO) specialize in TIG continuous corner welding for watertight integrity, followed by grinding and polishing for a seamless look.
- Gasket Optimization: We review your gasket channel design to ensure proper compression ratios, preventing “gasket creep” over time.
- Compliance Support:Â Whether you need NEMA 4X for washdown areas or IP67 for marine environments, we verify the fabrication details match the rating requirements.
The Result:Â Certified protection for your sensitive components, reducing liability and warranty claims.
Proven Fabrication Performance Across Demanding Sectors
Sheet metal fabrication is not one-size-fits-all. A medical instrument requires microscopic weld perfection, whereas a machine guard demands structural impact resistance. We adapt our full manufacturing protocols, including specialized material selection and finishing techniques, to meet the strict regulatory and functional demands of your specific industry.
Electronic Enclosures & PCBA Covers
Sheet metal covers for electronics serve as critical functional shields. Our custom aluminum and steel enclosures provide necessary Electromagnetic Interference protection while optimizing airflow for thermal management.
- Materials: Aluminum 5052-H32 (Excellent thermal conductivity & weight), SECC.
- Precision Ventilation: Custom hexagonal or louvre patterns punched with CNC precision to maximize airflow without compromising structural integrity.
- Grounding Assurance: We apply precise **masking** before powder coating to guarantee conductive grounding points. This eliminates the need for manual paint removal during final assembly.
- Hardware Integration: Automated insertion of PEM® nuts, standoffs, and studs for rapid PCB mounting.
Industrial Machinery Guards & Safety Covers
When safety is on the line, flimsy sheet metal doesn’t cut it. We fabricate robust machine guards designed to withstand impact, vibration, and harsh factory conditions, protecting both your operators and your equipment.

Applying finish to a thread or a grounding stud is a manufacturing sin. our process includes elaborate masking and plugging plans:
- Thread Protection: All threaded holes and studs are capped or plugged prior to coating.
- Grounding Areas: Specific contact areas are masked to ensure perfect electrical continuity.
- Zero Rework: Your team won’t need to chase threads or scrape paint—covers arrive ready for assembly.
Zero-Defect Manufacturing Guarantees Precision Fitment
Precision is the only acceptable standard in custom sheet metal fabrication. A single non-conforming part can halt your entire assembly line. We embed quality control directly into every production stage rather than relying on final detection. Here is how our system protects your project from manufacturing risk.
Mandatory FAI Sets the Production Standard
Before we run your full order, we produce a single, production-grade unit for verification. We verify critical dimensions against your GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) requirements using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)Â technology.
- The Promise: We do not flip the switch on mass production until the First Article is approved by your engineering team. Zero risk of bulk rejection.
Material Integrity You Can Trace
We refuse to cut corners on raw materials. Whether your specs call for Stainless Steel 316L for medical use or Aluminium 5052 for heat dissipation, you get exactly what you paid for.
- The Proof: Every shipment includes comprehensive Mill Test Reports (MTRs) detailing chemical composition and mechanical properties.
- Compliance: Full adherence to RoHS and REACHÂ standards for global market entry.
In-Process Tolerance Checks
Metal has memory, it springs back after bending. Lasers can drift. To combat this, our QA team performs random spot checks during production, not just after.
Cosmetic & Surface Durability Testing
A cover protects your product, but it also represents your brand. We ensure the finish is flawless and durable.
- Adhesion Testing: Cross-hatch tests on powder coating to prevent peeling.
- Thickness Verification: coating thickness measured to ensure consistent protection.
- Visual Inspection:Â 100% visual check for scratches, dents, or welding discoloration under standardized lighting.
Safe, Secure Packaging
Perfect parts are useless if they arrive damaged. We design custom packaging solutions—using bubble wrap, foam corners, and reinforced crates—to ensure your covers survive the journey from our factory floor to your loading dock.

Frequently Asked Questions
Direct answers to critical engineering and logistical questions to accelerate your procurement process.
What specific file formats do you accept for the fastest DFM review?
We work natively with STEP (.stp), IGES (.igs), and SolidWorks (.sldprt) files for 3D modeling. For 2D drawings (critical for tolerancing and finish specs), please provide PDF or DXF.
Pro Tip: Including a flat pattern DXF can expedite the quoting process by up to 24 hours.
Can you hold tight tolerances on complex bent covers?
Yes. Our standard laser cutting tolerance is +/- 0.05mm. For bending, we typically hold +/- 0.2mm to 0.5mm depending on the material thickness and bend radius. For critical features (like connector cutouts), we recommend laser cutting after forming or using CNC machining for precision mating surfaces.
My cover requires welding. How do you handle cosmetic grinding?
We recognize that exposed weld seams are unacceptable for high-end enclosures. Our team offers distinct finishing tiers ranging from functional flush grinding to seamless surface blending. In the latter process, the joint becomes invisible after powder coating. Please define your specific Class A, B, or C cosmetic requirements on your technical drawing.
Do you offer assembly services (inserting hardware, gaskets, windows)?*
Absolutely. We lower your assembly overhead by supplying production-ready covers. This involves full hardware insertion including PEM® nuts, riveting, foam gasket application, and window bonding. We ship fully integrated sub-assemblies instead of loose components.
What is your typical lead time for Prototypes vs. Production Runs?
Speed is our competitive edge. For unpainted prototypes, we can ship in as little as 3-5 days. For standard production runs (including powder coating/finishing), typical lead time is 2-3 weeks. If you have an urgent “line-down” situation, ask us about our Expedited Service track.
Is there a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)?
We specialize in High-Mix, Low-Volume (HMLV) manufacturing. While we have the capacity for high-volume runs, we enforce no strict minimum order quantity. However, please note that Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) fees for programming, tooling, and color changes are distributed over the total quantity. Consequently, the per-unit cost for a single prototype will naturally exceed that of a 100-piece batch.
How do you prevent damage during overseas shipping?
We treat packaging as part of the product. Covers are individually wrapped in protective foam or bubble film, separated by cardboard dividers, and packed in reinforced plywood crates (not flimsy cardboard boxes) for international freight. We engage in drop-testing for new packaging designs to ensure your parts arrive dent-free.
Can you provide material certifications for regulatory compliance?
Yes. We provide full traceability with Mill Test Reports (MTRs) for all raw materials upon request. We also certify compliance with RoHS, REACH, and can work within conflict-free mineral sourcing frameworks if required.
